five-yard trickle that went past goalkeeper Hope Herron in the 77th minute.

"Our Freshmen stepped up and played a good game for us today," said

Charlotte's head coach Neil Roberts. "The Conference Tournament is a new

season for all of us, Southern Miss deserves a lot of credit, I think we

played a good second half."

Conference USA player of the year, Jill Currie was held scoreless and only

took one shot on goal. "We took Currie out of the game and that was a bright

spot for us", said Southern Miss head coach Matt Clark. "We had some great

opportunities and their goalkeeper made some great saves. Charlotte's

goalkeeper Andrea Kollmorgen ended the match with five saves, while Hope

Herron of Southern Miss finished with seven.
