Lady Eagle Soccer Falls 1-0 To Tulane In Season Finale NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Southern Miss Lady Eagle soccer team saw the 2004 campaign come to an end, Saturday, with a 1-0 loss to host Tulane at the Westfeldt Facility. With the loss, Southern Miss dropped to 5-11-1 overall and 1-9-0 in Conference USA this season, the first under Head Coach Gail Macklin. Tulane's Kristen Tasca scored a goal in the 25th minute to provide all the scoring the Green Wave would need, while out-shooting the Lady Eagles, 10-2. Southern Miss did have a few opportunities, though, in the closing minutes. First, Kimberley Turner's shot with just over two minutes left in regulation went wide right. Turner had another shot that was swallowed up by Tulane goalkeeper Megan Morey. In the waning moments, Carly Barkley scored what appeared to be the game-tying goal but the Lady Eagles were called for offsides, and the Green Wave held on for the win. Southern Miss keeper Anna Snyder came up with five saves in the match.
