Assistant Coach Dolores Deasley will compete for her national team against France on Wednesday.

HATTIESBURG, Miss.— Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach Dolores Deasley left today, to join her national team for a match against France on Wednesday.

Deasley will join her national team, the Republic of Ireland, as it competes against France on Wednesday, in a “friendly” tune-up match in preparation for the World Cup, in Paris, France. She has been a member of her national team since 1999.

Deasley, who is in her second year as a member of the Lady Eagle coaching staff, had a decorated playing career at Hofstra University from 2000-03. She was a four-year letterwinner and finished her career with nine goals, four assists and 22 points. She played in 72 games in her career, with 70 starts, helping Hofstra to a 47-21-9 mark in her playing career.

As a senior in 2003, Deasley was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-CAA, also garnering All-American third-team honors by Soccer Buzz Magazine. She was also named first-team All-Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American and Soccer Buzz Magazine. She was the recipient of the Dr. Nathalie J. Smith Award, given to Hofstra's Female Student Athlete of the Year.

Over the summer, Deasley played for the New York Magic of the United Soccer W-League, and played on the Long Island Lady Riders of the United Soccer W-League in 2003 and 2004.
