Lady Eagle Soccer Team Loses Season Opener
OXFORD, Miss. - The Georgia State Panthers scored two goals in the 78th minute, holding on to defeat Southern Miss, 2-1, in the Ole Miss Classic Friday evening.
Southern Miss scored its only goal at 1:51, when Katie Adams scored off a header from Tricia Wiles' corner kick.
Daniel Brooks scored the Panthers' first goal from Lindsay Griffin, then 36 seconds later Griffin scored off a pass from Stephanie Fidanza at 78:43 mark.
Both teams will be in action again Sunday, when Southern Miss takes on Marshall at 10:30 a.m., and Georiga State plays Ole Miss at 1 p.m.
