Southern Miss junior forward Sarah McFadden (Magherfelt, Northern Ireland) has been selected as the Southern Miss Student Athlete of the Week, following her performance in the 2-0 preseason victory over Louisiana Tech last weekend.

Eleven minutes into the match, McFadden beat Tech goalkeeper Tara Gavlak to put Southern Miss on top 1-0. Twenty-eight minutes later, McFadden was tripped while on attack in front of the goal and netted a penalty kick to expand the lead, 2-0.
