Lady Eagle Golfers 6th After Two Rounds

ROGERS, Ark. -- Going into Tuesday's final round of the Embassy Suites/Tyson Invitational at Pinnacne Country Club here, Southern Miss is in sixth place in the nine-team field. Host Arkansas led by 17 strokes after one round, but Ole Miss made up 14 strokes during Monday's round, leaving Arkansas with a 3-stroke lead.

Arkansas recorded rounds of 291-304--595, while Ole Miss shot 308-290--598. Southern Miss, in its first event of the fall season, shot team rounds of 313-315--628.

Jennifer Keefe led Southern Miss with rounds of 79 and 76 (155 total) and is alone in 20th place heading into the final day of action. Mia Davidsson shot 82-75--157 and is tied for 23rd. Her 75 was the best Golden Eagle round of the first two days.

Following the Arkansas event, Southern Miss will play in the Cardinal Cup event in Simpsonville, Ky., Sept. 20-21, a tournament hosted by Louisville.
