Lady Eagle Basketball Team Gets Addition
HATTIESBURG, Miss.
– Southern Miss women's basketball Head Coach Joye Lee-McNelis announced the addition of guard Hallie Prest of Brookings, S.D., to the team for the 2004-05 academic season.
Prest, 5-9, was a three-year letterwinner at Brookings High School, where she averaged 10.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game as a senior. She was named all-conference and all-state, while helping her team win the state championship. Prest was voted her team's most valuable player and most Inspirational. She was a first team All-American U.S. Jr. National and received all-region recognition. The guard also received the Hanson and Anderson All-Star Gatorade "Will to Win Athlete" Award and the Wendy's High School Heisman Nomination.
Prest, a National Honor Society member, is scheduled to play in the South Dakota-Nebraska All-Star Game, June 19, in Yankton, S.D., at Mount Marty College. She graduated No. 1 in her class.
