Lady Eagles Enter Conference USA Tournament Seeded No. 11
Southern Miss enters the Conference USA Tournament, seeded No. 11. The Lady Eagles meet Louisville, No. 6 seed, in first round action, Mar. 1, at 3 p.m., in the DePaul Athletic Center. The winner of the game will face No. 3 seed, Cincinnati, on Saturday, Mar. 2, at 3 p.m.

Southern Miss (11-16, 4-10) concluded its regular season, winning 50-47, against Charlotte on Feb. 24. In that game, Victoria Mason led a balanced scoring attack with nine points, followed by La'Tasha Sumerall and Tierra Lassiter adding eight points each. Sonja Brown hauled in 10 rebounds. Brown also sealed the win, hitting two free throws with 5.8 seconds remaining in the game.

La'Tasha Sumerall finished the regular season leading the team in scoring with 12.0 per game, while Sonja Brown finished the season leading the team in rebounding at 8.4 rebounds per game. Sumerall connected on a season-high 51 three-pointers this season. Brown topped the 100 mark in blocked shots with 101.

Only 12 of the 14 teams in Conference USA advance to the postseason tournament. TCU heads into the tournament as the No. 1 seed, followed by Houston at No. 2, Cincinnati at No. 3, DePaul at No. 4, Tulane at No. 5, Louisville at No. 6, Charlotte at No. 7, Marquette at No. 8, Saint Louis at No. 9, Memphis at No. 10, Southern Miss at No. 11 and UAB at No. 12.
