Southern Miss junior quarter-miler Cornelius Duncan has been selected as the Southern Miss Student Athlete of the Week, after being named to the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field All-America Team in the 400 meters.

Duncan finished 10th overall in the semifinals of the 400 meters with a time of 46.20. He will compete in the 2007 USA Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., June 20-24, in the 400 meters.

Duncan becomes the sixth outdoor All-American, joining former Golden Eagles Jason Wilson, Wenston Riley, Cedric Norman (two times), and Raquel Washington. Tanika Liburd earned indoor All-American status after finishing eighth in the long jump at the 2007 Indoor Track and Field Championships in March.
