Files associated with this release: Golden Eagles Battle New Orleans In Final Non-Conference Game Of Regular Season HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- In the midst of a six-game win streak, Southern Miss travels to New Orleans, La., to take on the University of New Orleans in the final non-conference game of the season. Tip-off for the contest is set to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the New Orleans Lakefront Arena. The Golden Eagles, under the direction of first-year Head Coach Larry Eustachy, currently hold a 9-2 overall record after winning Tuesday night against William Carey, 90-46. Jasper Johnson continues to lead the team with 17.8 points and 7.9 rebounds a game. Jarekus Singleton follows with 12.5 points and 4.6 rebounds a game, and Rashaad Carruth also is averaging double figures with 10 points per game. New Orleans enters the game with a 4-7 overall record following Tuesday's 62-49 win over VMI at home. Bo McCalebb leads the team with 20.9 points a game, while Chad Barnes also is averaging double figures (10.3 ppg). Shawn Malloy is tops on the team in rebounding with 6.8 per clip, and Jamie McNeilly has a team-best 39 rebounds. The Privateers are 3-1 at home this season. UNO leads the all-time series 10-9, but Southern Miss picked up a win in the last meeting, winning 61-59 last season in Hattiesburg. The contest will be broadcast over the Southern Miss/ISP Sports Network. "The Voice of the Golden Eagles" John Cox and Lance Pittman will call the action.
