Eagles Take Road Trip To Ft. Worth
Hattiesburg, Miss. - Either the Golden Eagles or Horned Frogs will snap a losing streak when the two teams play Saturday night in Ft. Worth, Texas. Both teams dropped Wednesday night games to C-USA opponents, Southern Miss at Houston (74-66), and TCU at Marquette (83-72).

TCU brings a 10-10 record into the game and has lost six straight. The Horned Frogs are winless at 0-6 in C-USA.

Southern Miss fell to 6-10 overall and 1-5 in the league with the loss at Houston. The Golden Eagles now have lost three straight.

Thanks to early foul trouble, Elvin Mims played limited minutes in the Houston game but still leads the team in scoring at 18.9 points a game and in rebounding at 6.9 a game.

Clement Carter is the only other Golden Eagle averaging in double figures. He's currently at 10.4 points a game after also seeing limited minutes in the Houston game after leaving the game with a first half injury.

TCU is in its first season as a basketball member of C-USA, and the Horned Frogs and Golden Eagles will be meeting in basketball for the first time ever. TCU averages a league-best 88.5 points a game, and is led by Junior Blount who is eighth in the league in scoring at 16.4 points a game.

Following the current road trip, the Eagles return home for a Jan. 29, game against Saint Louis. Tickets to that game, as well as all remaining home games, are on sale at the athletic ticket office located on West Fourth Street, or by calling 601/266-5418 or 1-800-844-TICK.
