Former Baseball Golden Eagle Jeff Cook Named To Conference USA’s All-Decade Team
Cook, a three-time All-Conference USA selection and the 2003 Conference USA Scholar Athlete of the Year, played at Southern Miss from 2000-2003. He was named to five All-American teams, and was named to the 2003 All-C-USA Tournament Team.
He helped lead Southern Miss to a school record 47-16 record, including a 25-7 mark in Conference
Cook was a five time Conference USA Hitter of the Week selection and tabbed National Hitter of the Week three times by Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA.
In 2003, Cook tied for the league lead in home runs (23, 2003). He ranks in Conference
Cook was selected in the fifth round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is currently playing Class A Advanced Landcaster JetHawks, hitting .287, with five home runs, three triples, seven doubles, 28 RBI and 27 runs scored.
