Rome, Ga. - In the Southern States Athletic Conference's weekly volleyball awards, Kristy Walker was named Setter of the Week and Kayla Rollins was named Libero of the Week, after the Lady Hawks won the SSAC Championship this past weekend. This is the second time this year they have both received Player of the Week honors.

Walker, a junior setter from Ringgold, Ga., was an all-tournament selection and helped orchestrate a very efficient offense as she averaged 12.83 assists per game. She chipped in with 2.5 digs per game and four service aces. In two 3-2 victories over top seeded Lee University, Walker recorded 57 and 53 assists and had 12 digs and one service ace in each of the two matches.

Rollins, a junior libero from Acworth, Ga., anchored the back row defense for Shorter. In four matches, Rollins averaged 5.6 digs per game, had a .932 serve receive reception percentage, and added four service aces. In the Lady Hawks' two victories over Lee, Rollins had 34 and 26 digs, her two highest totals in their four tournament matches.

"They have both done a great job all season without a lot of recognition," said head coach Jon Moseley. "What they contribute is sometimes overlooked, but the things they accomplish are key to our game."
