Rome, Ga. - The Shorter College volleyball team beat visiting Southern Wesleyan University in three sets on Tuesday night, taking the match 3-0 after wins of 30-15, 30-25 and 30-17.

The Lady Hawks improvedto 8-10 overall and 3-4 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Jenny Mealer had 12 kills to lead Shorter, while Maggie Parker added 10 and Kate Puckett and Kasi Runion had eight each.

Kristy Walker contributed 23 assists, Leslie Glore had 11 assists, Kayla Rollins added 14 digs and Cara Colvard had 10 digs.

Katie Van Hofwegen chipped in seven digs and three service aces.

Shorter travels to the Faulkner University Invitational this weekend.
