CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State junior forward/center Missy Whitney (Charleston, Mo./Three Rivers CC) has captured Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week accolades for the fourth time this season, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

The 6-2 forward/center averaged a double-double last week as the Redhawks posted a 1-1 record. She produced a 13-point, seven rebound effort last Wednesday (Jan. 24) at Morehead State. Whitney then bounced back three days later with 13 points while tying a pair of career highs with 15 rebounds and three blocks in Southeast's double-overtime win over Murray State.

Whitney is averaging 13.1 points and 8.1 rebounds a game, which ranks her seventh and fifth, respectively, among the conference leaders.
