Golf Looks to Get On Track After Off Week, Will Make Trip to Eastern Kentucky
Sept. 23, 2003 Southeast golf will get back into the swing of things this weekend when the team travels to Richmond, Kentucky to participate in the Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic September 26-27. Kent Phillips, Matt Hillis and Brian Sheehan have already met the qualifications needed for guaranteed spots into the tournament based on their level of play at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate tournament two weeks ago at Eastern Illinois University. However, Coach Williams won't know until later in the week who will occupy the last two spots he can fill for the meet. The makeup of this meet looks much different from the first two tournaments, with only four teams from the OVC competing this weekend. That field includes, besides Southeast and host school Eastern Kentucky, both Morehead and Murray State. Play at the Arlington Golf Club will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the form of a shotgun start both on Friday and Saturday. As usual, the first 36 holes will be completed the first day, Friday, and the final 18 on Saturday. |
