Basketball Signs Post Player From Detroit

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Tyrell White, 6-7, 250, from Wayne County Community College in Detroit, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball next season at Southeast Missouri State University.

White averaged 13.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game at Wayne County last season. He shot 59% from the field and averaged 1.6 blocked shots per game.

"Tyrell White is a true post player who knows how to play with his back to the basket," said Southeast coach Gary Garner. "He is a good passer with very soft hands. We are very excited about having him join our basketball program."

White is a graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit. He is the sixth player to sign with Southeast

White joins 6-4 Eric Burtin ,6-4 David Johnson, 6-8 Andrais Thornton, 6-6 John Chappell and 6-4 Eric Jones. All but Jones are junior college transfers.
