Foust Named OVC Newcomer of the Week

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Southeast Missouri State junior Brandon Foust has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week after averaging a double-double in two games last week.

Foust averaged 19 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in contests against Murray State and Austin Peay. He also averaged 1.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game and hit 53.5 percent (15-of-28) from the field. Foust had 23 points and nine rebounds in a win a Murray State and 15 points and 12 rebounds in a one-point loss at APSU. He also had a pair of blocks on the week.

Foust, a transfer from Oklahoma, leads the Redhawks in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.

The Redhawks will host Tennessee State on Thursday, 7:30 p.m., at the Show Me Center. It will be "Take a Kid To The Game Night" with all children 13 and under admitted free of charge. There will also be Mascot Basketball at the half with a game featuring Rowdy the Redhawk and other area commerical mascots including Andy Armadillo from Texas Road House, Neigh Bear from State Farm, King from Burger King, Little Caesar from Little Caesar's Pizza and Can You Hear Me Now from JCS Tel Link.

Saturday night, Southeast will host Tennessee Tech in a 7:30 p.m. game. It will be Rowdy's second Bird Day with mascot friends, Fredbird of the world champion St. Louis Cardinals and Rocky from the Memphis Redbirds, on hand for the big party.

The Southeast women's team will play at 5 p.m. on both nights. Saturday, between the women's and men's game, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the women's OVC championship banners from last season will be unveiled at the Show Me Center.
