Murray State Beats Redhawks 85-67

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - Murray State jumped to an early 14-4 lead and never looked back in an 85-67 Ohio Valley Conference win over Southeast Missouri State.

The Racers shot 56% from the field and 33% from three during the first half while holding Southeast to just 22% from the field, 19% from three and 68% from the line. Murray State led 38-28 at the half.

Southeast, 8-14 overall and 6-7 in the OVC, never got closer than seven points in the second half as the Racers led by as many as 23 points.

Murray State, 9-11 overall and 7-5 in the OVC, was led by Danero Thoams and Bruce Carter with 16 points each. Ray George added 15 and Shawn Withersppon 14.

The Redhawks were led by Brandon Foust with 21 points and a game-high nine rebounds. David Johnson added 11 points.

Southeat will host league leading Murray State on Monday, 7:30 p.m., at the Show Me Center.
