Indians Win OVC Home-opener in Convincing Fashion, 79-60

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (Tuesday, January 11, 2005) Reggie Golson scored 24 points and Dainmon Gonner added 23 to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 79-60 Ohio Valley Conference win.

Southeast Missouri is now 6-8 overall and 1-2 in the OVC while Eastern Illinois falls to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in the OVC.

Golson was 10-12 from the field and 4-5 from the line while pulling down a game-high nine rebounds with four blocks. Gonner was 7-18 from the field and 8-9 from the line.

After falling behind early, Southeast took the lead at 17-15 and never trailed again. The Indians led 42-28 at the half and led by as many as 20 points in the second half.

Eastern Illinois was led by Josh Gomes with 21 points while Aaron Patterson had 14.

Southeast plays at Tennessee State on Thursday, 7:30 p.m., while Eastern Illinois plays at Tennessee State on Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
