Redhawks Cross Country Finishes Saluki Invitational

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - (October 7, 2006) - The Southeast men's and women's cross country teams competed today at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. The men finished second overall and the women finished seventh. Southern Illinois men and women's teams finished first to win the team championship title.

Leading the way for the Redhawks was sophomore Kevin McNab who finished third with a time of 25:00.02. Senior Chris Herron finished 11th with a time of 25:29.94. Following him was freshman Dustin Davis (13th - 25:38.12) and sophomore Brandon Karcher (14th - 25:39.05). Also competing was Danny Stults, Paul Stemmerman, and Tom Kinder.

On the women's side, sophomore Juli Koenegstein posted a time of 18:47.11. She finished 17th overall. Following Koenegstein was junior Sarah Velerst (30th - 19:25.32), sophomore Brittni Peck (32nd - 19:29.89), and freshman Stephanie Harres (50th - 20:04.97). Linnea Woldtvedt, Jacque Risley and Katie Muller also competed.

The Redhawks are on their way and will be back in action on Saturday, October 14 at the Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Indiana.
