SDSU Women's Soccer Spring Season Winding Down

April 5, 2005

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer team continues its spring schedule on Saturday when they play two games against Big West Conference teams Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton in the College Classic Tournament at the Temecula Soccer Complex in Temecula, Calif. The Aztecs will meet the Matadors at 11:30 a.m. and play the Titans at 5:00 p.m.

SDSU heads into the weekend with a 3-1 spring record with victories over city-rival San Diego (1-0), CS Northridge (2-0) and Long Beach State (2-1). The Aztecs' only loss came on March 5 against NCAA runner-up UCLA, when the Bruins took a 2-0 victory over SDSU in Los Angeles.

"Spring games are what they are - a chance to prepare for the upcoming season," first-year head coach Mike Giuliano said. "You still want to play well and play well we have. We have produced some of our best offense of the year this spring."
