Ladyjacks Fall Short In Conference Opener
Sept. 06, 2000 CONTACT: Elizabeth Alexander or Mandy Sciba NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Nicholls State Lady Colonels edged by the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team, 1-0, in the conference opener at Homer Bryce Stadium. The only goal of the evening was scored by Nicholls State freshman, Shannon Flynn, at 27:28 of the first half. Flynn was unassisted. The total shots taken were 17. Nicholls State had two and SFA had 15. Freshman goalie, Heather Matchette, had one save. Nicholls State goalie, Allison Brown, had 10 saves. Elizabeth Evatt, Ladyjack forward, had 12 total shots, five of those were shots on goal. The Ladyjacks will be in Jacksonville, Alabama for the Kick-out Cancer Tournament on September 8-10. The tournament will be hosted by Jacksonville State. The Ladyjacks will be playing Jacksonville State on September 8th at 7:30 p.m. On September 10th they will be playing Georgia Southern at 11:00 a.m. The next home match for the Ladyjacks will be on September 22nd against Drury College in Homer Bryce Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. |
