Stephen F. Austin Cross Country Men Win Southwest Texas Classic

SAN MARCOS, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University cross country teams headed to San Marcos, Texas for the Southwest Texas Classic. The SFA men finished the race in first while the women finished in fourth place.

The SFA men were led by freshman Nathan Flores who was the meet champion with a time of 25:52. This was a season best for Flores. Flores was followed in second place by junior Trenton Hall with 26:05. All five runners for SFA finished in the top 15. This led the team to a first place finish with 29 points.

On the women's side, SFA was led by sophomore Ana Gonzalez with a third place finish and a time of 18:05. This was a season best for Gonzalez. Freshman Ana Rodriguez followed in seventh place with 18:37. The SFA women finished the meet in fourth place with 82 points.

The Stephen F. Austin cross country team will be back in action Saturday, October 14 at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.
