NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Led by seven members of the track and field team who turned in perfect grade-point averages, 186 Stephen F. Austin student-athletes were named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, announced Friday by the athletics department as part of the Fall 2006 academic honors list.

The Athletic Director's Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who were or are eligible for competition in their sport's current season and who made at least a 3.0 GPA during the fall semester. Including the seven track and field student-athletes, 25 Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks posted perfect 4.0 GPAs to earn a spot on the President's Honor Roll, as well. In addition, 65 student-athletes finished the semester with GPAs between 3.5 and 4.0 to be named to the Dean's List.

Including the 12 track athletes who were named to the Dean's List, the SFA track and field team's 19 selections to the top two honors lists tied with the student training staff for the most Dean's and President's List selections. Six student trainers posted perfect GPAs, and 13 more were named to the Dean's List. The tennis and baseball teams had three athletes each named to the President's list, while Ladyjack softball saw two perfect GPAs in the fall semester. The Lumberjack football team had nine of its players named to the Dean's List, while the softball and soccer squads saw seven players each score between a 3.5 and a 4.0.
