(San Francisco) - USD freshman outside hitter Devon Forster pounded a match-high 16 kills on .536 hitting to go along with 10 digs to lead San Diego to a 30-21, 30-14, 32-30 sweep of USF in West Coast Conference volleyball action Friday at War Memorial Gym. The Toreros (15-6, 6-2 WCC) were relentless offensively and hit at a .344 pace for the match, while San Francisco (8-10, 3-5 WCC) could not find their rythym in dropping their 13th straight match to the Toreros.

San Diego opened up the contest hitting at a .436 clip in game one and committed just one attack error in the opening frame. USF hit .190 in the opening game, but then struggled in game two, hitting just .023, while the Toreros cooled off slightly, hitting at a .308 pace.

Senior outside hitter Amanda Willnerd led the way for the Dons offensively with a team-high 15 kill on .452 hitting and added 12 digs for the double-double performance. Sophomore middle blocker Liz MacAusland tallied 10 kills to go along with seven digs and a pair of blocks for USF.

Forster led the way offensively for the Toreros with her double-double, while senior middle blocker Lindsey Lampert hit at a .412 pace and freshman middle hitter Kristen Hurst hit .304as both recorded nine kills for USD. Freshman defensive specialist Kalae Araujo keyed a strong defensive effort with a match-high 13 digs to lead three Toreros in double-figure digs.

USF returns to action Saturday when they host the Gaels of Saint Mary's. Match time is at 7:00 PM at War Memorial Gym.
