(Portland)- Christine Sinclair had three goals and an assist - all in the first half - as #5 Portland beat San Francisco 6-0 Sunday in West Coast Conference women's soccer. USF (8-7-1, 1-4-0 WCC) returns to the Bay Area with a WCC Pacific Northwest split after a 3-0 shutout Friday in Spokane against Gonzaga.
Portland (13-2-0/2-1-0) made sure Sunday's contest was never in doubt holding a dominating 28-2 advantage in shots, including an 18-0 edge in the first half. The Pilots led 5-0 at halftime.
Junior forward Kirsteen Buchan and senior forward Heidi Prestegard were the only Dons to record shots in the contest. Sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Orantes recorded eight saves in the first half and sophomore keeper Stephanie Beall allowed one goal on 10 shots in the second half and tallied three saves.
USF returns to action when they host Pepperdine in WCC action Friday, Nov. 2. Match time against the Waves is at 5:00 PM at Negoesco Stadium.
