USF Women Cruise to a 70-57 Victory Against Sacramento State :: Dominique Carter Scores Game-High 24; Shay Rollins Adds 22

(San Francisco) - USF women's basketball won its second straight game with a convincing 70-57 non-conference victory against Sacramento State Wednesday night at War Memorial Gym. The Dons (5-4) forced 25 Hornet turnovers to kick off a season-long five-game homestand.

Senior guard Dominique Carter recorded a game-high 24 points with 10 rebounds to complete the double-double performance. The honors candidate went 12-of-21 from the field with four assists and just one turnover in 35 minutes. Junior guard Shay Rollins chipped in 22 points to go along with five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

San Francisco shot at a .419 (31-74) clip from the floor, while Sacramento State connected on .420 (21-50). The contest featured just 19 combined personal fouls and the two teams shot a grand total of nine free throws. Neither team was shy about hoisting up shots from beyond the arc as the Hornets went 9-for-20 (.450), while the Dons went 6-for-24 (.250).

Sami Field-Polisso scored a team-high 12 points for the Hornets. Charday Hunt added 11 points, while Atty Boyer registered 10 for Sacramento State.

The Dons return to action when they welcome San Jose State to the Hilltop for a Sunday matinee. Tip-off against the Spartans is set for 2:00 PM at War Memorial Gym.
