MACON, Ga. - Samford University's Deanna Resmondo and Kelly Smith earned Atlantic Sun second-team All-Conference honors and Erin Hall was named to the All-Freshman team announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Resmondo earns her second-straight second team selection. She posted a .320 batting average with 11 doubles, five home runs, and 21 RBI on 2003. Resmondo ends her two-year career at Samford with the school's highest fielding percentage. She made just four errors in two seasons for a .992 percentage. She is also fourth on the Samford's all-time list with a .298 career batting average. She hit a pair of game-winning home runs against Auburn and UAB in 1-0 wins this season.

Deanna Resmondo earned all-conference honors for the second-straight season


Smith led the Bulldogs in hitting this season posting a .341 average with a conference leading 17 doubles, six home runs, and 31 RBI. Smith had a 13-game conference hitting streak while breaking Samford's single season record scoring 32 runs in 2003.

Hall becomes the Bulldogs first All-freshman team honoree since 2001. She batted .269 with four doubles, a team high four triples, one home run, and 12 RBI in her first season. She started 43 of Samford's 45 games and hit her first collegiate home run at UCF on March 26. Her four triples are the most by a Bulldog player since Amanda Haugh had six triples in 1997.

Erin Hall started 43 of 45 games as a freshman in 2003


Samford finished the 2003 season with a 27-17-1 overall record marking its first winning season in the program's history. The Atlantic Sun named UCF Stephanie Best its Player of the Year, Mercer's Tony Foti Coach of the Year, and FAU's Amanda Morin Freshman of the Year.
