Samford Looks To End Streak Against Troy State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford returns home tonight after a three-game road trip which saw the Bulldogs drop their school-record 12th straight game to Stetson 61-48. Morgan Vickery averaged 12.3 points per game on the trip despite only scoring seven points against Stetson. Giovanni Price returned to the Samford lineup against Jacksonville and scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Stetson for her third double-double of the season. The Bulldogs shot 34 percent from the floor and 27 percent from 3-point range on the trip.

Samford has not won a regular season conference game since defeating Troy State, 88-61, Feb. 24, 2001 at Seibert Hall. Freshman Lindsay Harris will return to the Bulldogs lineup tonight after missing the last eight games.

The Lady Trojans have dropped nine-straight after falling to Georgia State 72-59 on Monday. Thea Herring scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead TSU against the Lady Panthers. Chaquita Alexander leads TSU is scoring averaging 12.8 ppg. She had 13 against Georgia State. Troy State is 1-6 on the road this season with there only win coming in Birmingham against Birmingham-Southern 65-57 on Dec. 8.
