Samford Cruises To Tennis Victory over Tennessee State

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford Tennis teams cruises to victory over Tennessee State Thursday night at the Samford tennis courts. The women's victory was their seventh straight, which moves them to 10-2 on the season. The men improve to 8-6 by winning their second straight match.

The women took their match 7-0 led by Emily Nunnally at number one singles. She won her match with Danette Rachel 6-0, 6-3. The Bulldogs did not lose another game as the 2-6 players all won 6-0, 6-0. On the men's side, Samford took a 5-2 victory. Andres Leal had to retire with an ankle sprain although he was ahead in his match. Raphael Bohli took a tough three-set match against Jamaal Brown to improve to 10-2 on the season.

Both the men and women's teams will return to conference action on Saturday as they travel to Troy State for 1 p.m. matches
