Football Continues Preparation for Indians

Nov. 13, 2002

The Bulldogs have spent this week trying to string solid practices together. Consistency has been in scarce supply in '02. The bad news is Samford (4-5) has won two games in a row only once this season. But the good news is they've lost two in a row just once as well.

With two games left in the season, Samford knows it must keep focused heading into Saturday's match-up at Southeast Missouri State University.

"I think we put two good days back-to-back," said coach Bill Gray. "We picked the intensity up a little bit. We need to continue to get better, even nine games into the season. The attitude was good today."

There is at least one interesting geographical twist to Saturday's game.

Predictably, the Show-Me state is well represented on Southeast Missouri State's roster. Of the 78 players listed, 32 are from Missouri. 19 of those 32 are from St. Louis. Only two of SEMO's players call Alabama home, and one, sophomore offensive lineman Taurean Robinson, is a Birmingham product. Robinson was a stand-out at Hoover High School before heading north to play college ball.
