Track And Field Prepares Alabama Relays

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford University track and field team heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Thursday for the Alabama Relays, hosted by the University of Alabama on the Sam Bailey Track.

The meet kicks off on Thursday morning at 9:30 with the women's heptathalon. Samford's Laura Malnati will compete in the event. Thursday's heptathlon events will include the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and the 200-meter dash.

Friday the heptathlon will conclude with the long jump, javelin throw and the 800 meters. At 4 p.m., the women will compete in the 10,000 meters, and the men will compete in the event at 4:40. On Saturday, individual events kick off at 8 a.m., with the men's hammer throw and conclude at 5:25 with the men's 400-meter dash.

Sunday's events begin at 8 a.m., with the women's hammer throw, and will conclude at 5 p.m. with the men's 4x400-meter relay. Sunday's relay events will count towards the team competition.

The Alabama Relays begins at 9:30 on Thursday, with the women's heptathlon. Results will be posted upon the completion of each event at www.cfpitiming.com.
