Final Stats

STATEN ISLAND, NY (November 5, 2005) - The Sacred Heart women's volleyball team won the first game Saturday afternoon at Wagner College but lost the next three to the Seahawks in Northeast Conference volleyball action. The Pioneers are now 5-18 overall and 2-4 in the league while the Seahawks picked-up their first NEC win.

SHU posted a 30-22 win in game one but lost by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-25 to the Seahawks.

Leading the way for the Pioneers was junior Brenda Bailey (Costa Mesa, CA) who posted a match-high 16 kills with six digs. Sophomore Christine Duffy (Massapequa, NY) finished with 14 kills and hit a match-high .400 (14-4-25). Senior Michelle Clarke (Baltimore, MD) passed out 47 assists and had seven digs.

Wagner got 12 kills from Brandy Barnett and 10 kills apiece fromo Sirena LaBurn and Trish Morris.

The Pioneers are right back on the court tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Fairleigh Dickinson for a 1:00 pm match.
