Final Stats

The Sacred Heart volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Ivy League members Harvard and Dartmouth Saturday afternoon in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Big Green posted a 30-24, 30-23 and 30-16 win while the Crimson came away with a 30-22, 30-20 and 30-16 win to drop SHU to 3-12 on the year.

Against Dartmouth, sophomore Christine Duffy (Massapequa, NY) was solid on the outside of the Pioneers, putting away 14 kills and hitting .306 (14-3-36) in the match. She finished off the double double with 10 digs. Freshman libero Katie Thomas (Wappingers Falls, NY) also made 10 digs in the loss.

Junior Charnette Porter (Framingham, MA) had nine kills and five total blocks.

In the Harvard match senior Brenda Bailey (Costa Mesa, CA) posted 10 kills with five digs. Thomas led the team defensively with 14 digs.

The Pioneers will return to action on Wednesday, October 5th when they open Northeast Conference play hosting Quinnipiac at 7 pm in the William H. Pitt Center.
