Dec. 11, 2007

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (December 11, 2007) - Sacred Heart freshman Angelica Johnson picked up her second-consecutive Northesast Conference Track & Field Rookie of the Week award on Tuesday.

Johnson claims her second consecutive NEC Rookie of the Week award following her sprinting performances at the Yale Season Opener. Sacred Heart's freshman sprinter won the 200-meter dash, while placing second in the 60-meter. Her 60-meter time of 7.89s, which automatically qualifies her for the New England Championships, now stands as a program record, smashing the prior mark of 8.16s. Johnson has competed in only two meets at the collegiate level and already owns a total of four Sacred Heart records.
