FAIRFIELD, Conn. (January 10, 2007) - Sacred Heart senior Evan Lasher (Pleasant Valley, NY) and freshman Brittany Dexter (Ballston Lake, NY) were named the Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week announced by the league office.

Lasher again is tabbed NEC Field Athlete of the Week after recording two wins at the Dartmouth Relays for Sacred Heart. The senior co-captain won the shot put with a heave of 54' 4" and dominated the weight throw with a mark of 55' 2.25". Lasher surpassed the IC4A qualifying standards in both events. Lasher continues his undefeated streak in both events this season.

Dexter receives her second NEC Rookie of the Week honor after tying for second place overall in the high jump with a 5'6" clearance at the Darmouth Relays. The Sacred Heart freshman continues to top the NEC in the event.
