FAIRFIELD, CT (April 17, 2004) - The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Providence College Friars Saturday afternoon in Fairfield. The loss ends the Pioneers regular season at 8-9 in match play.
Sacred Heart's lone win came at #1 singles where sophomore Lauren Galatie (Monroe, CT) came away with a 7-5, 7-6 (10-8) win over Jen Daigle. The Friars took all three doubles matches and won every singles match at #2 through #6 to come away with the win.
SHU will take part in the Northeast Conference Championship scheduled for next weekend, April 23rd-24th.
