Fairfield, CT - Sophomore Johannah Kos (Feeding Hills, MA) and freshman Katie Marshall (Cumberland, RI) each set new school records for the Sacred Heart swimming team during their meet at Siena Saturday. The Pioneers lost the meet to Siena 149-74.
Marshall continued her impressive rookie campaign posting a 1:00.64 mark in the 100 yard butterfly. Kos put up a time of 2:15.16 in the 200 yard individual medley. Both finished second in their events.
Sacred Heart picked up wins in four events on the afternoon. Senior Laura Johnson (Red Hook, NY) won the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:13.50 and freshman Jackie Balder (Levittown, NY) took first in the 500 yard freestyle with a mark of 5:27.20. In addition, SHU's 200 yard medley and 800 yard freestyle relay teams won their events.
The Pioneers will host Fairfield in their final home meet of the season Saturday at the Wheeler Recreation Center. The meet starts at 1:00 pm.
