Bridgeport, CT (November 22, 2003)- The Sacred Heart University women's swimming team got back on track this past Saturday as they defeated C.W. Post 112-86, in front of a home crowd at the Wheeler Recreation Center located on the University of Bridgeport campus. The Pioneers took first place in ten events and second in six events.

The Pioneers were led by senior co-captain Christine DePierro (Cromwell, CT), who finished first place in the 800-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle, and the 100-meter freestyle. Fellow senior co-captain, Katie Dervan (West Roxbury, MA), placed first in the 50-meter freestye, 200-meter medley, and second in the 200-meter breaststroke.

Freshman Krystina Eikeseth (Staten Island, NY) had a pair of first place finishes in the 200-meter fly and 400-meter freestyle. Junior Angela Koenig (Harrison, NY) helped lead the way as well with a first place finish in the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter medley.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday December 6, 2003 when they travel to Siena College.
