FAIRFIELD, CT - JuniorMegan Spehar (Thousand Oaks, CA) of the softball team has been named the Enterprise Rent-a-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 15.

Spehar, the starting pitcher for the Pioneers in the opening game of a doubleheader with Mount St. Mary's, took matters into her own hands at the plate, belting a solo home run to left field with two outs in the eighth for the winning run.

The Mount threatened in the bottom half of the inning. Kelli Seger doubled to open the frame and Ashley Monsour was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with no outs. Spehar, however, got a pop out and two strike outs to close the game.
