FAIRFIELD, CT - Sacred Heart University's Director of Golf Operations / Head Women's golf coach Jamie P. Romeo announced today the schedule for the fall portion of their quest to win the Northeast Conference Golf Championship in the spring of 2007.

"This will be a good test for us to set the foundation to make a strong run in the spring at the conference championship." Romeo said. "The addition of Bucknell, the ECAC Division I Tournament (being hosted by William and Mary), along with the Rutgers Invitational puts this schedule as on of the tops in the Northeast...I want the women to know that we can compete at this level...and we will."

Dartmouth, Princeton, and Lehigh along with the SHU Fall Classic at Great River will remain on the schedule from the fall of 2006.

The Pioneers, who are coming off their best Northeast Conference performance, will look to take the fall part of their schedule and establish themselves as a consistent sub 340 Team. "I believe that we have the talent to be a consistent sub-340 team." Coach Jamie P. Romeo stated. "We have solid depth...I can envision us routinely throwing away 86's, 87's, or 88's for the fifth score...if we are able to accomplish this, we will be able to compete at the conference championship in the spring....we have ten women I would not hesitate to put into the line-up, the question will be can we find the chemistry and desire to compete or will we back down from the competition?"

For the final fall tournament the Pioneers will host the 2nd annual Fall Classic to be held at Great River Golf Club, home of Sacred Heart University Golf (October 28th and 29th). Boston College is the defending champion.
