2005-06: Sowinski made an immediate impact both offensively and defensively as a freshman...The 6-4 center appeared in 30 games with a pair of starting assignments...She averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds on the year...She provided a defensive presence in the paint with a team-leading 41 blocks on the year, ranking her sixth in the Northeast Conference...She shot 42.6% (52-122) from the field and 68.4% (39-57) from the free throw stripe...Had her best outing of the season against Fairleigh Dickinson in the opening round of the NEC Tournament (3/4/06)...She scored 16 points, a season-high, on seven-of-12 shooting in the opening round 83-55 win...Had another solid outing against the Knights in Teaneck (1/25/06) where she played 21 minutes after SHU center Jasmine Walker went down with an injury...Sowinski scored 14 on four field goals and a six-of-seven night at the line and blocked five shots...Just missed a double-double against the Knights at home during the regular season (2/20/06) grabbing a season-high 10 boards along with eight points.
