2006 NCAA Northeast Regional Results

The Sacred Heart men and women's cross country teams returned to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx Saturday afternoon for the NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional. The Pioneer women finished 23rd in a 37 team field while the men were 30th among 38 teams.

Sacred Heart sophomore standout Kathleen Henry (Basking Ridge, NJ) ran a 22:48.6 on the course to finish 49th overall. Following Henry was senior Anne Duffy (Monroe, CT) who was 88th with a time of 23:38.3. Twin sister Katie Duffy (Monroe, CT) finished 111th with a time of 24:06.4

Rounding out the Pioneer field of runners was freshman Sarah Tencza (Succasunna, NJ) in 159th (25:05.7), senior Kathryn O'Connor (Bellmore, NY) in 193rd (26:09.3), senior Julia Mahoney (Topsfield, MA) in 195th (26:09.8) and freshman Theresa Campbell (Colonia, NJ) in 214th (27:06.4).

For the men, sophomore Joseph Palma (Gladstone, NJ) was the Pioneer's top runner finishing 177th in 36:30.4. Sophomore John Kenworthy (Gloversville, NY) was 186th (36:46.8) followed by sophomore David Jones (Charlton, NY) in 189th (36:50.0), freshman Brendan Rickert (Danbury, CT) in 190th (36:52.7), junior Stephen Zito (Guilford, CT) in 213th (38:18.1) and freshman Ryan Murdoch (Niantic, CT) in 219th (38:41.1).
 

 

The Pioneers wrap up the fall on Saturday, November 18th at the ECAC and IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
