2005 Fordham Invitational Results
The Sacred Heart men and women's cross country teams opened their 2005 schedule Saturday afternoon competing in the Fordham Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. The women finished ninth among 19 teams while the men came in 10th out of 17 squads. Princeton came away with both team titles.
On the women's side, junior Kathleen Duffy (Monroe, CT) got off to a solid start to her season by running the 5,000-meter course in 19:43 to finish as SHU's top-runner in 52nd place. Making a strong debut to collegiate racing was freshman Kathleen Henry (Basking Ridge, NJ) who clocked in with a time of 19:53 to finish 56th.
Team captain Jenna Pisani (Vernon, NJ) finished the course in 20:05 (64th), followed by junior Anne Duffy (Monroe, CT) in 75th (20:24), fellow senior captain Erin Kulasewski (West Warwick, RI) in 97th (20:52), senior Ann Regan (Westfield, MA) in 119th (21:38) and grad student Terressa Howard (Meridan, CT) in 128th (21:49) rounding out Sacred Heart's top-seven finishers.
Freshman Luis German (Southampton, NY) led the men's team, finishing as SHU's top-runner in his first collegiate race. German finished in 71st place with a time of 28:22 over the five mile course. Senior captain Tyler Arnett (Clinton Corners, NY) finished the Van Cortlandt Park course in 29:10 (86th) with freshman David Jones (Charlton, NY) right on his heels at 29:14 (87th).

Filling out the Pioneer top-seven where sophomore Stephan Zito (Guilford, CT) in 93rd (29:31), freshman Joseph Palma (Gladstone, NJ) in 94th (29:37), freshman John Kenworthy (Gloversville, NY) in 95th (29:38) and senior Robert Gill (Braintree, MA) in 107th (30:22).
Both Pioneer teams will be right back in action next Saturday, September 17th when they travel to Loretto, PA for the St. Francis (PA) Red Flash Invitational. Loretto will also be the site of this year's Northeast Conference Championship on October 29th.
