Fairfield, CT - Sophomore Barry Smith (Shelton, CT) has been named the EIVA Hay Division Player of the Week for the week of March 26-April 1. Smith is the second Pioneer to be named the league's top player this season.

Smith led the Pioneers to their first league win of the season, posting 12 kills and 11 digs against New Haven. Smith hit 12-17 with just one error to post a .647 hitting percentage for the night. Smith leads the Pioneers with a .329 hitting percentage and a three kill per game average for the season.

The Pioneers are back in action tonight when they host Vassar at the Pitt Center. Game time is 7:00 pm.
