FAIRFIELD, CT (February 25) - Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac face off in a crucial late-season match up, with the season series, as well as the conference lead, hanging in the balance. The Pioneers won the only previous meeting this season, but Quinnipiac is on a roll, having won nine of their last 11. Home ice advantage in the playoffs still goes through Sacred Heart, as they own the top spot and can't be caught if they win their remaining four contests.

The Pioneers took over first place in the conference with a win over the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday night, however failed to gain any breathing room by falling to AIC on Saturday night. Friday night, the Pioneers grinded out a 2-1 victory over the Crusaders on the strength of 30 Kevin LaPointe saves. Garrett Larson and Barclay Folk scored the Pioneer goals to move back into the top spot. Saturday night, the Yellow Jackets jumped on top of SHU early and held on for a 4-1 victory.
