LAKEWOOD, N.J. (April 2, 2007) - Sacred Heart's Adam Petrasovic (Tecumseh, Ontario), Tommy Campbell (Wall, NJ) and Patrick Fillian (Tinton Falls, NJ) finished first, second and third, respectively, to lead the Pioneers to the team title at the 2nd Annual Monmouth Hawk Invitational in Lakewood, New Jersey. The Pioneers win the championship with a two-day score of 576 at the par 71, 6,525 yard Eagle Ridge Golf Course, their lowest team score of the season.

The Pioneers came into Monday's final 18-holes with a 10-stroke lead and finished the job by shaving another 10 strokes off their Sunday score for a 283. SHU finished 18 strokes ahead of second place host Monmouth (594).

Petrasovic, who posted the low round for any Pioneer this season on Sunday by firing a 3-under 68, came back on Monday and posted a 1-under 70 round to claim the individual title, the first of his young career. The freshman put together his best-two rounds of the season to claim the title. His previous best outing came at the ECAC Championships this fall where he finished second with a 148 (72-76).

Both Campbell and Fillian moved up the leader board on Monday afternoon to help SHU secure the win. Campbell, who's Sunday's 72 put him third, matched that score on Monday and moved him to second place, his best overall finish of the year. Campbell's matching 72's marked his lowest score of the season since shooting a day two 70 at the Central Connecticut Invitational, the fall's first event.

Fillian, the Pioneers most consistent golfer, knocked four strokes off his Sunday score to move from sixth to third on the final board with a two-day score of 146 (75-71).

The biggest mover from Sunday to Monday was Sacred Heart sophomore Matt Belizze (North Salem, NY) who tore through the course shooting a 70, one stroke behind teammate Petrasovic for the day's low round. Belizze was tied for 24th after Sunday's play with a 79 but finished the tournament tied for 8th. Belizze matched his season-low round of 70 shot on the third day of the Yale Invitational.
