Men's Golf Slides to 11th Overall After Round Two

Oct. 8, 2007

Fairfax, Calif. - In the second round of the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, the Santa Clara men's golf team sits at 11th place out of 16 teams. The Broncos were in 6th after the first round, but saw their scores drop in the second. Jimmy Cacho continued his stellar play, shooting a three under 68 in the second round to be -9 for the tournament and currently tied for third place.

Cacho had just two bogeys the entire day, one in each round, and has been climbing his way up the leaderboard to sit just five strokes behind the leader.

Scott Travers also had a solid afternoon, shooting a 68 as well after his first round of 71 to go into the final round at -3 and tied for 22nd.

Freshman Tyler Ichikawa was consistent once again in his second collegiate tournament. His dual 71's have him at even par for the tournament.

Jonathan Keane had a rougher second round after playing well in the first. He was -1 for the round after 12, but two bogeys and a triple dropped him to four over for the day and +1 for the tournament so far..

Tim Lynch was even par after his first nine holes, but struggled coming out, going eight over in the back nine. He is currently at +11.

The Broncos have just 18 more holes to rally and put up some low scores to bring themselves back into contention. The first Santa Clara player goes off at 8:14 tomorrow.
