Men's Crew Opens 2004-05 Season with Pair of Wins

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's crew got its season started off on the right foot with two gold medals at the Head of the San Joaquin Regatta in Stockton, Calif. on Sunday. Rowing conditions were ideal in Stockton on a warm day with a slight head wind.

"Today was a very early season meet for us," said head coach Tony Barcia. "It was a great chance for us to come together as a team at this stage in the year after only having two practices under our belts prior to the competition."

The Varsity Men's Pair of AJ Perry and Rick Carlson posted a gold medal performance with a winning time of 24:42. The Varsity Eight also took home a gold medal with a time of 18:42.
